Terms & Conditions
Last updated: August 2026
1. About us
These terms apply to all detailing services provided by Tailored Detail, operating from Ironwell Ln, Hawkwell, Hockley SS5 4JY, United Kingdom. By booking a service you accept these terms.
2. Quotes
All quotes are personalised and based on the vehicle information you provide and, where possible, an in-person or photographic assessment. Quotes are valid for 30 days and may be revised if the vehicle's condition on arrival differs materially from what was described.
3. Bookings and deposit
A 10% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking slot. Deposits are deducted from the final invoice. The remaining balance is payable on completion by card, bank transfer or cash.
4. Cancellations and rescheduling
We ask for at least 48 hours' notice to reschedule a booking, in which case the deposit will be applied to the new date. Cancellations with less notice may forfeit the deposit at our discretion.
5. Vehicle condition
Please remove personal belongings, valuables and loose items from your vehicle before drop-off or collection. We are unable to accept responsibility for items left inside the vehicle.
6. Turnaround
Full details typically require approximately 48 hours in the studio to allow correct decontamination, correction and coating cure. We will confirm the collection window in writing when you book.
7. Insurance
We hold full motor trade insurance covering customer vehicles in our care, custody and control, plus £5,000,000 public liability cover. In the unlikely event of an issue, please raise it in writing within 48 hours of collection so we can investigate.
8. Ceramic coatings and aftercare
Ceramic coatings are offered in 2, 5 and 7-year durability tiers as rated by the manufacturer. Products used are covered by the manufacturer's own product guarantee; if a product fails to perform as expected it is referred back to the manufacturer. Achieved longevity depends on following the aftercare guidance we provide, including washing method, product choice and avoidance of harsh chemicals. Damage caused by accidents, poor washing practice or third-party work is not covered.
9. Paint correction
Machine polishing safely removes clear-coat defects to the depth required and permitted. Some deeper defects (RIDS, stone chips, previous respray issues) may not be fully removable without risking clear-coat integrity. We will always advise honestly on what is achievable.
10. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability where it cannot lawfully be excluded. Otherwise, our liability in respect of a service is limited to the amount you paid for that service.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
