Whole car clayed with the appropriate grade to lift any remaining bonded contamination, then rinsed and dried ready for whatever comes next.

Microscopic iron particles from brake dust and industrial sources bond to your paint and corrode into the clear coat over time. An iron remover chemically reacts with them so they can be safely rinsed rather than physically scrubbed.
Motorway driving deposits tar spots that no amount of shampoo will remove. A dedicated tar remover dissolves them gently without damaging paint or trim.
Even after chemical decontamination, a clay bar picks up remaining bonded contamination; you feel it clearly on the first swipe. This is what leaves paint feeling glass-smooth and ready for polishing.
pH-neutral shampoo (not degreaser or dish soap) preserves any existing wax or sealant during a maintenance wash. Two-bucket contact wash keeps grit out of the mitt. Straight-line, panel-by-panel motion avoids swirl-inducing circles.
